Musical Achievements:

Mark first studied percussion back when he was in 5th grade. Throughout the school years, he was a part of multiple groups within the Belchertown's music program like the concert band, jazz band, brass/wind ensemble, and marching band. At grade 6th, 7th, and 8th, Mark had successfully been a part of western districts. Throughout high school, Mark continued playing with the school's concert band, marching band, jazz band, brass/wind ensemble, yet also had the opportunity to be a part of the Youth Brass/Wind Ensemble of Umass and the Youth Springfield Orchestra. Just like in elementary school, Mark also continued to be in Western Districts and finally went on to All States in his senior year. He even had a unique opportunity to take lessons at New England Music Conservatory from Craig McNutt. During the years of Holyoke Community College, Mark has been a part of its Brass/Wind Ensemble, Chorale, and Percussion Ensemble. The experience has been amazing as he also spends his free time to focus on piano and songwriting along with percussion.

Approach to Teaching:

Every student learns at a different pace and in different ways. It's my full responsibility to identify what is best for each of my students. It starts with finding the best books within our Falcetti library. Then it's identifying the strengths and weaknesses of my students. Finally, figuring out what musical path to guide my students throughout the year, as in, rock beats or jazz beats? Original soloing or covers? Snare drum studies or drum set studies? And more!
