American Roots Ensemble focuses on:

American Roots Ensemble is dedicated to our musical roots – learning and playing blues, folk, and traditional country music in a friendly, student-centered environment. From the songs of Robert Johnson to Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family, ARE will celebrate the musical heart of America at its most personal and moving. If you play acoustic guitar, violin (we call that a fiddle), mandolin, banjo, ukulele, string bass, or sing, come join the band!

Why join ARE??

Playing together is what music is all about and ARE provides a fun, comfortable setting to share songs that are the musical foundation for all popular music to come. Your skills will develop and your musicianship will sharpen, as you enjoy these simply powerful songs with your friends. Join us, as we dig into our musical heritage and keep the tradition alive!

What Students Say...

She got to actually work with a group in a band. [This] taught her a lot about give-and-take and supporting other people. She gets a lot out of Kidzrock from a social aspect.
- Marie Boesch, parent

He started playing music right away... and reading music from a very young age. If your child has any interest in music, this is a great way to cultivate that love of music.
- Julie Sandler, parent

He was playing that little guitar after just one class. Watching him on stage performing with his band was amazing. One of the best decisions we ever made!
