Aizel Livioco is a Philippine-born soprano and has been trained in classical singing since she was 10 years old. She was accepted into the Philippine High School for the Arts as one of the Philippine’s young art scholars. She also received, with full scholarship, her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the University of the Philippines, where she graduated magna cum laude. She recently obtained her Masters degree in Voice Performance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and was a recipient of the Bezanson Graduate Voice Award. Aizel was able to perform in Italy, Spain, Germany, and Indonesia when she was a member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, a renowned chorale group in the Philippines which had won numerous international competitions including the European Grand Prix for Chorale Singing. She has also performed in China, Canada, and Hong Kong as part of the soprano crossover duo, The Nightingales. She was also part of the artist pool of the Philippine Opera Company in several of their productions. Aizel’s opera performance credits include: (Adele) Die Fledermaus, (Queen of the Night) Die Zauberflöte, (Michaëla) Carmen, (Lisa) La Sonnambula, (Violetta) La Traviata, (Gianetta) L’Elisir d’Amore, and (Amy March) Little Women. Aizel served as voice faculty at the University of the Philippines, College of Music Extension Program and was the voice coordinator and vocal coach at the Assumption College in the Philippines for their After School Program. She was also the teaching assistant for voice at the Department of Music and Dance at UMass Amherst.

My Approach to Teaching

“The transformative power of music, which goes beyond performance and instills self discipline and confidence, is vital for the holistic development of each individual student. With an encouraging learning environment, I aspire to set up lessons which are tailor-made for each unique student. Appropriate technical and musical concepts, body awareness, healthy singing, and the ability to communicate and express will be taught to equip students of all ages.”
