Hannah Kearing - BIO

Hannah’s lifelong love of music led her to study voice at the Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College. There, she attended the Mediterranean Opera Studio in Italy, performed the role of Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and took courses in subjects like vocal pedagogy, educational psychology, music theory, and orchestration. She also led an a capella group for 3 years, worked for the choral department, and acted as the conservatory's recording technician. After graduating, she moved to New Orleans, where she spent eight years teaching voice and piano to students of all ages. Hannah is largely self-taught on piano, giving her a unique perspective for supporting adult beginners. She also has extensive experience with beginner and special-needs students, and is always excited to welcome new learners of all backgrounds!

My Approach to Teaching

My experience as a classically-trained vocalist and self-taught pianist demonstrates that there is no single way to learn music. I believe in meeting students where they are and embracing their own specific needs and goals. Whether you’re starting fresh or rediscovering music, we’ll lean into curiosity and fun as we build your skills and uncover your own musical journey.
