Linette Tracey - BIO

Lynn has been teaching for over 25 years. Many of her students have studied with Lynn for over a decade, while others have returned for continued learning along their musical journeys. Lynn’s students range from age 5 to 95! Lynn is a state-certified Recreation Therapist, as well. In addition to 1-on-1 lessons, she offers music to Senior Centers, Memory Care communities, Assisted Livings, Continuing Adult Education classes and Cancer Hospitals, both as a performer and an instructor.

Lynn completed her studies at The Hartford Conservatory School of Performing Arts, Manchester Community College, and the New School University School of Jazz in NYC. She has been a performing artist along the east and west coast since 1998 and has also served as a big band director. Lynn continues to perform in many local venues with various groups.

My Approach to Teaching

I enjoy helping students find their niche as they benefit from a well-balanced approach toward developing their musicianship. The style I use provides students with the opportunity to play a favorite song early on. Students also learn how to read music, build their chord-vocabulary, and strum various guitar patterns. Fingerstyle methods and scale exercises also contribute toward advancing a student’s technique, whether it involves learning a song for their own enjoyment or performing during a recital or at a local venue.
