Sanga Yoon - BIO

Originally from South Korea, Sanga began studying the cello when she was 8 years old. She was inspired by her mother’s love of the cello and music. Sanga completed her Artist Diploma, Master of Music, and Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance as well as Suzuki pedagogy studies at The Hartt School. She serves as assistant principal cellist and development coordinator of the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, is the cellist of the Charter Oak String Quartet, and performs as a substitute cellist with the Hartford, Norwalk, and Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestras.

I hope music becomes a steady source of comfort and inspiration for my students, something that stays with them through both bright and challenging moments

My Approach to Teaching

I believe teachers and students inspire one another, and learning is most meaningful when it’s a shared journey. Music connects us; it helps us express, listen, and understand. My role is to guide and encourage each student as they discover their own voice, creating a space where curiosity is welcome and growth feels joyful.
