Jennifer Fijal-Brevik - BIO

Jennifer grew up with much musical curiosity: she sang and played multiple instruments, and was involved in many musical ensembles and activities. She majored in vocal performance and pedagogy at Plymouth State University and received her Master of Music from New England Conservatory in voice and opera. She worked as a voice teacher and administrative assistant at Falcetti Music for a time, then pursued a full-time performance job in the Midwest, which allowed her to explore multiple styles and to create programming for students and the retired community. She returned to New England where she taught private voice and conducted choirs with the Hartt Community Division and began work at First Presbyterian Church in Hartford as Music and Arts Director. She was privileged to take an independent study to further understand Alzheimer’s Related Dementia and looks forward to creating fulfilling programming for those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Jennifer is happy to again be a part of the Falcetti Music team as the Director of Education as she works to provide quality lessons and programming for the Greater Springfield and Farmington Valley communities!

My Approach to Teaching

I strive to provide a patient and kind learning environment that caters to each individual student. Balancing between anatomy, analogies, and physicalization, students will learn the mechanics when necessary, and allow their entire body as an instrument to relax so their voice can flow.
