Laura Ross - BIO

Laura has been playing guitar since 2005. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Mount Holyoke College, and she is extremely passionate about working with students, especially students who are new to the guitar. She is licensed to support English Language Learners and enjoys working with students with a wide range of musical interests. Some of her favorite styles to play are rock, pop, blues, and jazz, and in addition to guitar, she also plays bass, ukulele, drums, and piano. Laura developed her own love of music by taking lessons at Falcetti for more than a decade and performing in numerous Falcetti ensembles, including the jazz band, percussion ensemble, and several rock bands. Laura taught guitar lessons at Falcetti for 3 years before leaving to pursue her degree. She is so excited to once again be a part of the Falcetti team!

My Approach to Teaching

I work with each student to create an individualized plan that will allow students to meet their musical goals. As a percussionist, I believe in providing a strong rhythmic foundation, and I also encourage my students to explore theory so they can really understand what they’re playing. I love helping my students learn to play their favorite songs, all while providing a nonjudgmental atmosphere for self-expression and creativity.
