Malgorzata Lach - BIO

Ms. Lach started playing the guitar at age 14. First, as a self-taught learner on the mandolin, and then the acoustic guitar. Malgorzata loved music since childhood. In 1986, she emigrated to the United States from Krakow, Poland. Coming to the USA enabled Lach to take lessons. Through those lessons, she was introduced to classical guitar music. Coming to the open house at Mount Holyoke College changed everything. It opened the possibility of following her dream: music. Meeting her second classical guitar teacher, Phillip de Fremery, has changed the trajectory of her life and work. Currently, Malgorzata is an adjunct professor of guitar, theory and piano skills at Mt. Holyoke College. She teaches privately in Erving, MA, as well. When not in a class or performing, Lach can be found in her wood shop building classical guitars. She also leads a rock band where she sings and plays electric guitar.

I love to teach and share my music with others. I believe that everyone should be able to have music in their lives, if they so desire. I love to help my students achieve that goal. Music is fun and I try to design my lessons accordingly. My goal is to help all my students play the music they want to play.
